Nokia unveils the Nokia 3220 camera phone at Nokia Totally Board in Thessaloniki, Greece offering transparent Nokia Xpress-On(tm) grips. The grips pulsate with light effects to indicate calls and messages and synchronize to ringtones.

The 3220 offers Light Messaging. By waving the handset from side to side, the LED lights of the Xpress-on(tm) Fun Shell light up so messages can be exchanged across a crowded room or at open-air concerts, etc.

The phone can also be used as a joystick in combination with a variety of motion games that complement the Nokia Xpress-on(tm) Fun Shell. Tilting the phone allows the user to move characters through a series of challenges and tests. SwampRacer and AirExpress come loaded on the phone.
