Samsung Electronics, the worlds
third-largest cell phone maker, said it had exported world phones to the United
States.
The company said it exported SCH-A790 products, which will go on sale from next month in the U.S. through Verizon, the nations leading mobile operator.
World phones refer to versatile models, which can be operated both under the code division multiple access (CDMA) and the global system for mobile communication (GSM) networks.
Samsungs world phone made its debut during the CeBIT 2004, the worlds largest electronics and telecommunications exhibition which took place in March in Hanover, Germany.
